A lake north west of Glasgow. The Loch was among the first significant and dramatic Highland landscapes accessible to the nearby burgeoning Lowland population, who had acquired a taste for the romantic and the picturesque prompted by the romantic depictions of highland life by Sir Walter Scott and others.
